City of Refuge

Today the entire 2009 Nebraska AIM team was able to go to the City of Refuge and minister to over 70 children and adults.  The City of Refuge is an orphanage for abandoned children and children who are involved in court cases.  Missionaries Steve and Kim Puffpaff are the directors of the City.  We had such a wonderful time ministering to the children.  We presented puppet songs, object lessons, and Bible stories to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the beautiful children!  After the ministry time around 10 children raised their hands to give their lives to Jesus!  That is why we are here in Jamaica!!!  We had our lunch at the City of Refuge (which was delicious) and then we spent a little over and hour playing games, painting faces, and tying balloons for the children!

Today was the final day for ministry here on the Island as far as the organized places of ministry goes, because where ever we go here in Jamaica there are opportunities for ministry!  Tomorrow will be our final day in Jamaica and the AIM team will be going the Dunns River Falls and to the "tourist" thing tomorrow.

Thank you for your many prayers through out this entire trip!!!  I want to encourage you to check out the pictures from today because words just can't express the beauty of the mountains where the City of Refuge calls home.  God Bless!!!

Projects Day

Today the teams were in different Churches doing some service projects.  The two Churches that we went to were Moores and Summerfield.  Both Churches were in need of a paint job and so the Nebraska AIM team set out to meet the needs.  What was really neat was that following the painting the teams were able to minister to the people of the Churches!!!

I have talked about what God is doing in the people of the Churches and the Schools that we have ministered in, however God is ministering to the students that are one this missions trip!  On Monday we were able to have a service just among the AIMers where Pastor Bruce Riddle shared from God's Word.  During that service Pastor Bruce asked for some testimonies, and one of the students shared that God was giving a new start for her life and she no longer feared the future.

What a blessing it has been to see how God is using the students of Nebraska here in Jamaica!

One quick testimony from the team that went to Moores Assembly of God.  At the end of the service the altars were opened for people who needed a physical healing.  A man came forward who said he could not hear 100% from his right hear.  The students prayed for him and the Holy Spirit opened up his ear!  The man said that everything was louder when the team was done praying for him.  Even the Pastor of the Moores Church came for healing on her shoulder and when the students finished praying she was able to lift her hands and praised God!!!

God is doing a wonderful work in and through the 2009 Nebraska AIM team!  Thanks you for your prayers!!!

Today Was For Rest

Today we were able to have a full day of rest and relaxation, with some shopping.  However our main purpose still remains ministering to the people of Jamaica.  As of right now we are done ministering in the Public Schools.  There are three more days of ministering in different Churches.  Between the two teams we will be doing 10 more services in the remaining three days of ministering!!!  So please continue to continue to pray for us.

We have updated the pictures from our missions trip!  Please enjoy and use the pictures as a prayer tool!

Friday 6-26-09

Some of the team is sitting in the dinning area waiting for the rest of the team to come in from their room for our midday meal.  We have a breakfast around 6:30 am, then a dinner at 3:30 pm, and a meal after our evening service which is usually around 11:00 pm.

God has been so good with providing each of us with health and strength to do His work every day!  And it has to be recognized because of the many prayers that are being sent up to the Throne Room of Heaven on our behalf by all of you!  Thank you so very much.

A couple testimonies that were not put into the last post that were from yesterday.  One of the teams yesterday went to a Primary and Junior High school which is ages 5-13.  At the beginning of the program to just get the children's attention they did a game called "Let's Make Rain" were they rub and clap their hands together.  As soon as they began the game it literally began to rain, and it rained hard!  It was as God was saying "I Am with you!"  There were exactly 200 children at this program and about 180 of those children responded to the Salvation call!  Praise The Lord!!!

The other team went to a high school and presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ that had approximately 1000 students.  At this program there was about 30 students that responded to the Salvation call!!!

The 2009 AIM team is experiencing something everyday that is not seen in the USA, and that is Bible verses on posters and painting on the walls of all the public schools!  The students receive Biblical training from an early age and so the soil that the seed that is being scattered on too is ready to receive!!!   Praise The Lord for the work that He has already done here in Jamaica!!!

Thank you again for all of your prayers!!!  God Bless!!!

Finally, A New Post

I want to say thank you to all who have been praying for the 2009 NE AIM team here in Jamaica!  I apologize for not having any update until now, but I just discovered the internet here at the hotel today ...... Praise The Lord!

Wednesday night was the first opportunity for the team to be in ministry.  We have split the team up into two separate teams of 25 people.  We went to two different churches last night.  One testimony that was given by the team that went to the AG Church in Stewarton was that a young man by the name of Glennville responded to Salvation in Jesus Christ.

We have also been able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the School System here in Jamaica!  Praise the Lord for open doors and for receptive hearts!!!  Again I ask to you continue to lift this Missionary Team to the Lord of Heaven in your prayers!   God's Blessing to you all!

2009 Aim Final Training Day

The 2009 AIM team training days are over!  Dramas have been taught and learned.  Children object lesson's have been taught and learned.  We are ready to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the children, young people, and adults of Jamaica!!!

We started out the day at 7 am with wake up and 7:30 am devotions.  God has been ministering to the AIMers during our numerous prayer times though out these past three days!  Then the rest of the day was filled with intense ministry training and preparation.  The 50 AIMers are equipped to successfully minister Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to a nation that is filled with poverty and a people without God.

A highlight for today was a trip to Wal-Mart.  After being in this beautiful building called Christ's Place we all needed to have an outing!  We purchased some supplies that finalized our needs for the trip.  (I was not happy because they were out of the gummy bears that I wanted.)
We ended the day with another hour of prayer and some former AIMers were in that prayer service and they even prayed for us!  The presence of the Holy Spirit was very thick!

Thank you for all of your prayers!  We truly covet your prayers while in Jamaica.  I strongly believe that our success in ministering to the people in Jamaica is directly connected to the prayers lifted up back here at home!

Blessing to you!
